Sgt. Slaughter is just trying to make sure things are in working order.
Sarge recently applied to trademark “Cobra Clutch”, which is the name of his famous wrestling finishing maneuver. Some might have jumped to the conclusion that he trademarked it as a way to prevent other wrestlers from using the move. Slaughter says that’s not the case, and it has nothing to do with Lacey Evans, either.
“No, no. She’s welcome to use the Cobra Clutch just as long as she knows how to use it correctly. I’m just protecting the name because of all of the things that I have to do with my Challenge Coin, the Cobra Clutch Challenge Club,” he proclaimed. “And I just wanted to protect it, so it’s all done right. Anybody can use the Cobra Clutch, you’ve just got to do it right.”
Sgt. Slaughter applied to trademark “Cobra Clutch” for use on collectible coins, headwear and wearable garments, as well as for:
